- How much does it cost to book per hour?
Each time you book a Popcar you can choose to book by the hour or book for a full day depending on the plan you signed up for. If you book by the hour, the cost will be the hourly rate plus $0.48 per kilometre travelled.
If you book by the day, you will pay the daily rate with 100km included in your rate. Any additional kilometres travelled will be charged at $0.48 per kilometre.
- Can I return the car to a different location?
As we're a Point A-to-A service, you’ll need to return the car to the same dedicated bay you initially picked the vehicle up at via the Popcar app. Please verify the pick-up and return description, which indicates the bay location in the details.
Important: On occasion, you collect a vehicle from a location slightly outside the dedicated bay, please ensure that you do not return the vehicle to that initial temporary pick-up location, but rather to the correct, designated bay.
- What will happen if I return the vehicle late?
All bookings have a 15-minute grace period before and after each booking for you to complete your pre- and post-trip report. Beyond that, a late return fee of $15 for each 15-minutes block will apply
- How to finish a journey with Popcar?
At the conclusion of your reservation time, return the vehicle to its designated parking bay and simply lock the vehicle via the app.
- Do I get refunded back for the hours I didn't use?
There will be no refunds should you end your booking early. Read more here.
- Do I need to top up and pay for fuel?
We cover the cost for your Popcar’s fuel needs!
However, we could really use your help to refuel cars left with 3/4 the amount of fuel or less. All Popcar vehicles come with a fuel card to help you do so easily. In the event that you are unable to use the fuel card, you can refuel and submit your receipt for reimbursement.

You may park the vehicle at the closest untimed bay in the area and follow these steps here before ending your booking.
- What happens if I'm late/don't show up for my booking?

- Am I able to extend my booking?
Yes, you may extend your booking, but it is subject to the availability of the car. Read more here.
- Is insurance provided?
Yes, we provide basic motor insurance coverage. You may also opt for additional coverage with our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) at a small cost. It costs either 15% or 25% of the total booking charge. Learn more about CDW and excess coverage here.
