Yes. As the driver, you are fully responsible for paying any tolls, parking fees, traffic infringements, and penalties incurred during your booking period. Popcar only covers the parking costs at the vehicle's designated home bay.
Here is what happens if you receive a fine:
- Nomination and Processing Fee: If Popcar receives an infringement notice (such as a speeding or parking ticket) linked to your booking, we will provide your details to the relevant authorities so the fine can be transferred to you. We will also charge a processing fee of $25 to your account for handling the notice.
- Co-Drive Bookings: For Co-Drive trips, the Primary Driver’s information will automatically be sent to the authorities by default.
- Impounding and Towing: Please park legally and responsibly! If your actions cause a Popcar vehicle to be towed, impounded, or wheel-clamped, you will be charged a heavy administrative fee of $300. This is on top of any vehicle recovery costs and loss of use charges.
Appealing an Infringement
Once we nominate you as the driver, the relevant authority will mail the physical fine directly to your registered address. Please note that it can take up to 28 days to receive the mail from the day we process the fine to you. If you wish to appeal the infringement, you can do so yourself directly with the relevant issuing authority once you receive the physical fine in the mail.
